Hello, my name is John Park, president of EcoClam. I am majoring in agricultural engineering and automatics. Born in a rural part of Jeju Island, I was part of an agricultural community during my youth. Growing mandarins was a physically demanding work, and I hoped someday I could develop a better technology to reduce the burden on my grandparents. The moment I shifted into environmental activities was my school trip to the Borneo jungle. On the plane, I saw an artificial forest, where palm trees are planted in a grid pattern, just to be used in agriculture. At that moment, I understood the severity of the environmental damages that overagriculture can bring, causing me to shift my attention to developing methods to develop a high-tech sustainable farming system.
