At our July 27th meeting, EcoClam continued to build both digital and print-based environmental education, while also taking direct action through a local cleanup. The meeting focused on organizing upcoming projects, managing deadlines, and reinforcing our commitment to combining environmental awareness with community involvement.
One of the key agenda items was the website and blog update, with a goal to refresh content by August 10. Members were assigned to locate and upload missing photos and summaries for past events. These updates will help us better showcase our ongoing activities and reach a wider audience through a more complete online presence.
In addition, members committed to writing individual environmental blog posts by September 30, each focusing on a topic of their choice. These personal reflections and research-based articles aim to expand the club’s voice and deepen our engagement with environmental topics from multiple perspectives.
A major ongoing project discussed was our Environmental Magazine, scheduled for release next summer as both an e-book and printed publication. As part of the preparation process, members began planning and research on endangered species, with submissions due by October 31. This research will become a key feature in the magazine, helping raise awareness about biodiversity loss and the urgent need for conservation.
Beyond planning, EcoClam also took direct action during the meeting by organizing a cleanup near Art Center (예술의전당). Members collected litter and recyclable waste from the surrounding area, contributing to a cleaner public space and leading by example in caring for our local environment.
This meeting reflected our club’s balanced approach to environmental activism: combining digital education and outreach with practical, hands-on impact. As we prepare for future publications and campaigns, we remain committed to informing, inspiring, and involving our community in the pursuit of a more sustainable world.
