In our March 8th meeting, EcoClam reviewed progress on several upcoming projects and confirmed important deadlines for website development, donation planning, and magazine production.

The first project discussed was the Jeju Beach Research Project. Seungchan Oh completed the research on Jeju’s beaches and also finished creating a website to organize the collected information. This website will later be connected to the main EcoClam website so that visitors can easily access the project materials. The final upload deadline for this work is May 20.

The second topic was the Children’s Day Donation Project. At first, the club planned to make candles and donate them as gifts. However, after researching the process through sources such as Naver blogs, members found that producing and distributing candles would require official permission and safety approval. Because of these restrictions, the club decided to change the project plan.

Two new donation ideas were discussed. The first is a mini plant-growing kit, which would include a small flowerpot, possibly made from a paper cup, soil, seeds, and an instruction card explaining how to grow the plant. The purpose of this gift is to help children learn about nature and the importance of the environment by growing plants themselves. The second idea is seed pencils or seed cards, which would allow children to plant seeds after using the item, while also delivering an environmental message in a creative way. Possible donation locations are still under discussion, with options including a church or a children’s center.

The meeting also covered the EcoClam Magazine Project. Writing responsibilities were divided among members: Se-i Kwon will work on sections 2 and 3, Seungchan Oh will take sections 4 and 5, Junhyeok Lee will write section 6, Seung-a Choi will complete section 7, and Dani Kim will be responsible for section 8. The deadline for the first writing draft is May 25, and the final submission for design is due on May 31.

Lastly, the club confirmed the schedule for the next meeting, which will take place on Sunday, March 29, at 11:00 p.m.

This meeting showed EcoClam’s continued effort to combine environmental education, creative project development, and organized teamwork. Through these projects, the club aims to make a meaningful impact while encouraging greater awareness of sustainability and community engagement.
